Under Armour names Nike veteran new SVP, sportswear, run, basketball/Curry and collaborations
Under Armour has announced the appointment of Yuron White to the role of SVP, sportswear, run, basketball/Curry and collaborations, effective April 29.
With over 25 years of experience in sportswear, White joins Under Armour from New Balance, where he held the role of vice president of global lifestyle, basketball and innovation.
Prior to that, he had an long-serving career at Nike, where he most recently was vice president of performance sports and cross category concepts, responsible for propelling growth across Nike’s category businesses, including Nike tennis, Nike golf, men’s and women’s training, football, baseball, and Nike SB.
The executive also held the roles of vice president of footwear at Jordan brand and vice president/general manager of Nike basketball in Shanghai.
In his new role at Under Armour, White will report directly to Yassine Saidi, chief product officer. He will be based out of the brandâs Portland office where he will be responsible for creating both footwear and apparel to drive profitable growth and build exciting product. He will develop and execute product strategies across the sportswear, run, basketball, Curry brand, and collaboration categories, according to a press release.

I know that he will help us extend the reach of our offerings and partnerships to drive consumer demand,â said Saidi.
White’s recruitment is the latest in the U.S. sportswear firm’s strengthening of its product leadership team and the first leadership hire with Kevin Plank as CEO.

White’s appointment comes several weeks after âthe reappointment of Under Armour founder Kevin Plank to the role of president and chief executive officer at the Oregon-based sportswear firm.
